The Trotting Mare is situated between the historic village of Overton-on-Dee (near Wrexham), and the Lakeland's of Ellesmere (Shropshire). The grounds are uniquely located on the border joining Wales and England upon the A528.

  

We are open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings 6 to 9pm for food and drinks till 11pm. We also offer a Sunday lunch Carvery 12 noon to 2:30pm and drinks.

Originally Constructed in the nineteenth Century, the Trotting Mare is renowned for its individual charm and friendly atmosphere.

Whether you join us for our selection of locally brewed traditional beers, bottle beers, a glass of wine chosen from our wine list, or simply a soft drink, you are always assured of a friendly welcome. During the warm summer months, why not relax outside in our traditional beer garden? To accompany your drinks, treat yourself to something to eat from our carefully thought out menu of high quality meals or light bites, prepared freshly with local ingredients.
